The Speyside distillery lies in the moutainous area close to the source of the river Spey. Opened in 1991, it is one of Scotland's more recent additions but has been constructed in traditional style with local stone and could pass for an original Victorian-era building. The founder, George Christie, had never intended to produce large volumes of spirit so the pot stills are amoungst the smallest being used in Scotland, with an output of only 500,000 litres per annum.

This sherry-butt matured whisky has a most alluring nose, giving dried fruit with an ambundance of citrus and some nutty aromas. The firm palate is expressive, building to deliver rich brittle toffee, bitter almond and orange zest. The finish is long, smooth and exceptionally well balanced.
